Melton city council is a western suburb of the City of Melbourne in the state of Victoria, Australia. The City consists of several townships and communities and is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Australia. This growth presents citizens with many exciting opportunities with some major challenges. To best meet these challenges and take advantage of the opportunities, it is essential that learning takes place right across the community.

Lifelong learning is an effective means of nurturing sustainable personal, social, cultural, economic, and environmental development in the community now and into the future. A participative action research methodology was taken by the CLB to evaluate the Community Learning Plan.
The Community Learning Plan will seek to remove some of the consequent obstacles to full civic participation by focusing on certain priorities. The Melton city council needs to secure state and federal government funding for schools, kindergartens, and community infrastructure in a timely manner and requires approximately two primary schools to be built every three years. The City needs to provide facilities to deliver higher education and employment skills and business development which needs to enhance young people’s opportunities to plan and pursue career pathways from school to vocational education, training, higher education, and employment.
Successful Community Learning Plan initiatives may grow and require expansion.
Maintaining relationships and manage partnerships in order to achieve agreed community objectives is essential.
Evaluation needs to be ongoing and there needs to be a good evidence base to inform decision-making and to evaluate the success.
Here are Ajay’s Agendas for melton city council
My agendas are based on survey from local residents and my work with council as a community leader.
1. There is gap between the community and Local government to fill the gap i am to introduce my services 24×7 through the community services app.
2. Council annual budgets should be spent wisely.
3. Advocate cutting the Council rates.
4. Improve public transport links between Caroline springs to Melton via Thornhill Park, Aintree, and other estates.
5. Advocate building medical centers in new estates such as Aintree, Thornhill park, Fraiser rise, and other suburbs.
6. Advocate for TAFE college in Melton.
7. Advocate to Increase hard waste collection capacity.
8. Advocate building pedestrian crossings such as zebra crossings and pedestrian signals.
9. Advocate to create local jobs through various ways such as business expos, events, invite businesses to establish with the councils support. Currently, Lendlease and Melton council are developing Cobblebank in partnership.
10. Advocate working on Councils roadmap for 2036.
